Looking at that machine, it doesn't replace my already existing switch due to a lack of ports :( Also, no PoE either, A ck gen one would be fine for your use case,yes you need a 2 for protect, Based on experience, I would get the gen2 it has a battery that properly shuts diwn the unit in case of a power failure.
