The elders are the buffer between the shepherd and the sheep. It is biblical for a church to have elders in place. One of the reasons so many of our worship songs are sung to God, is because they are intended to be voiced (prayed) to God as we sing! The local church is typically where this type of meeting will occur. There is something special about smaller churches, not that bigger ones are not good but we all know each other and are devoted to praying for one another. If we get this right, just in our musical part of the service, we will all be talking to God for at least twenty minutes at church every week!

He was brought up a Roman Catholic,and he said that it is a load of bull. I think i don’t want to disappoint my elder church sister or my pastor but I know I’ve grown so much spiritually because of the other church and the pastor. Today’s culture wants religious tolerance where all views are okay but that is not what the Bible teaches. You will hear how they help the poor, support each other in community, emphasize peace or save the environment. I could write a small book in what they have done,and failed to do what was right. Yes, Sunday’s name came from that pagan source but so is a wedding ring a pagan symbol but does this mean we are pagans for wearing them? We recognize the source of that good by the way we feel inside. If you find something disturbing, wrong, or morally corrupt, it's a good sign that the church may be a cult. Worship isn’t just about sitting through a worship service or singing songs. But they need to be mature elders – not puppets of the pastors. You need milk, not solid food!
