The story set-up goes like this: (1) Meet in God’s Realm & Develop feelings for each other (2) Go through some misunderstandings and descend into Human’s Realm (3) Go back to God’s Realm and rank up (4) Fight the demon lord (5) One person almost dies, then miraculously comes back at the end. Unfortunately, he's too shy to reveal his feelings for her. Thus, ten miles is NOT the story about Mo Yuan as the god of war.
I can really understand why some people prefer TMoPB though, it’s got a bit more of an epic romance feel to it compared to Love and Destiny. I have to agree with Jenny. The plot of ten miles is superb, not only as it aired first. I’m afraid I’ve got to argue that I enjoyed Love and Destiny much more than Ten Mile of Peach Blossoms. I just feel a little angry that such good drama didnt get enough praise and attention as it deserves, at least in my place. Although Fengjiu loves her Aunt, I didn’t see them together that much or caring for each other like Ling Xi and Qing Yao, or even Ling Xi and Shi San. I also agree with your comment on Bai Qian. I found myself crying in 3 live as I did for ten miles… the Liang Liang song has me crying everyday because I have it on a playlist now. In episode 48, in one scene only we can see the changes of fun, fear, hope, joy, and lust altogether shifted beautifully through his eyes. If Ye Hua wasn’t in the picture, she would’ve falling in love with Mo Yuan instead.
One of the most fatal flaws of TMOPB is that there is almost no female friendship for Bai Qian. In Love and Destiny, I feel like the character doesn’t really change just because they met each other and it’s a compliment. I was too happy to see them in season two of eternal love (Eternal love of dream). both are good TMOPB and Love and destiny…In TMOPB there are episodes that makes me feel boring I find it interesting on the later part..while Love and Destiny there is no dull moments in every episode..Jiu Chen & Ling Xi has a good chemistry same with Yun Feng & Qing Yao and of course Si Ming & Shi San..i like the way Si Ming acts he makes me laugh!hahaha! I think that also helps to stir up our fangirl mentality, of course, we want to be like Bai Qian, so cool and have a guy all over us.
Other jealous women in Love and Destiny are so minor and not worth mentioning, especially when there are many great supporting roles such as Qing Yao and Shi San.
You really got me thinking there that I probably preferred Ye Hua simply because of my fangirl’s side rather than based on my objective evaluation of his performance. Nothing stands in Ye Hua and Bai Qian’s way except the Demond Lord, crazily jealous women, and some misunderstandings. I preferred Chang Chen’s portrayal of the God of War because he had the acting chops, and the gravitas and charisma for a character like that. It’s so frustrating that the drama we love doesn’t deserve its attention!

I tried to watch them several times but always ended up fast-forward… Love and Destiny is probably the only drama that I actually bother to watch the side love story. It’s her family trait. Their love story is also very understandable if you watch until the end. My sincere apologies. On the other hand, the way he looked into Su Su/ QQ speaks volumes on how much he loves her.
I like Chang Chen better because I feel like I know he is way way older than her and he doesn’t intend to like her. To take your fruit analogy, apple and orange are somewhat similar, they’re both sweet & sour. I like Ling Xi (Ni Ni) better than Bai Qian (Yang Mi) and Ye Hua (Mark Chao) better than Jiu Chen (Chang Chen). The image of a god of war which is supposed to be deep, calm and thoughtful can’t be beautifully translated in Chang Chen acting. I try to switch back to the Pillow Book (which I had dropped after 20 eps since I discovered L&D) but honestly that sequel of Ten Miles cant hold my attention for more than 10 mins (I swear I sometimes fall asleep while watching). Until the next greatest drama, L&D is my most fav drama for now. In the end I gave up searching in my mother tongue and type English title keywords and end up here. I started watching Cdramas and Kdramas very recently and I have seen quite a few reviews to agree with you to some extend. It picks up after episode 21 or so. Also, I never appreciate the type of Heroin like Bai Qian, besides her beauty she doesnt have much good traits to actually appealing an excellent man like Ye Hua. He gives the name of ye hua, splendor in the night, a justice (ever wonder why he always has dark elegant attire throughout the story). Later, he begins to feel that Yoon-Kyung is starting to develop feelings for him, but is confused when she gives chocolates to another man on Valentine's Day. This how the portrayal of women in dramas should be.
I’ve never watched any of these. It’s a little hard to pick up after the other two, it seems slightly comical. Ye Hua and Jiu Chen are very different characters, one is young and makes rash decisions and the other is much older, mature and calculated. Which drama did you prefer and why?

He is never a cold and arrogant character, from the get go he is the God of War, but extremely compassionate, defensive of those loyal to him, and ultimately just wants some peace.
